Catawba Indian Cemetery
A small Indian graveyard, where John White buried the remnants of a hunting foraging party that died of small pox.

Note: John White was not a Captain in the Civil War but may have served in earlier Wars yet unproven.      
   One family tradition says he helped with the trail of tears removal. (a John White is found on the Militia List)
     The first graves in the cemetery are those of John White's children who died before their grandmother Sarah   
Perkins White - (see Bible record.)  Their graves are marked by fieldstones.
